Warwick Lodge Neurobehavioural Rehabilitation Centre

Warwick Lodge Neurobehavioural Rehabilitation Centre

×
Project title: Warwick Lodge Neurobehavioural Rehabilitation Centre
Client: Castlebeck Care (Teesdale) Limited
Value: £1.82 Million
Location: Leicestershire
Role: RIBA Stages 0-6
Details: Warwick Lodge was originally built as a Royal Hunting Lodge in the early 20th Century and was then used as an old people’s home. It had stood empty for a few years when Castlebeck acquired it and its grounds. We worked with the client to develop a campus of facilities. A new Graded Rehabilitation Annex and Day Unit was built, the former Stables were converted to a Care Home (Croxton Lodge) for people with Learning Difficulties and Warwick Lodge itself was restored to a 15 bed Unit for people with acquired brain injuries. Warwick Lodge was in a dilapidated state when the restoration works began. It is not a Listed Building but it is clearly of some architectural merit so we chose to restore it sensitively. New glazing was installed to the Atrium roof and to the first floor balcony so that the original form of the building is acknowledged.
