The practice is proud to have designed many varied and award winning developments for our clients and all of our clients show a common trait – they’re open to ideas, they love design, and they want to be challenged. This special relationship is at the heart of what we do.

If you share a passion for quality and sustainability, then we hope you’ll be inspired by our work. If you have a project or opportunity you would like to discuss, then we would be delighted to hear from you. Simply contact us as directed above.

Our Philosophy

Quality design has the ability to enhance people’s lives. Whether at work, rest or play, quality design impacts on the culture and climate of place, improving lifestyles and often acting as a stimulus for regeneration.

Understanding both the positive and negative impacts of design allows us to inform the persona of a development, influencing its structural skeleton and anatomy of services, as well as its external appearance and the symbiotic relationship with its surroundings.

Combined with this, we are committed to giving every client a highly personal service that respects the precious commodities of cost and time. We treat all the suppliers, contractors, and consultants we work with as professionals and respect their opinions and roles in any development equation.

We believe that it is through challenging ourselves and extending a client’s boundaries of expectation, that we add value.

Quality & Environment

Quality Management System: BS EN ISO 9001:2015

The Practices are BS EN ISO 9001:2015 accredited.

We monitor, review and improve our working practices, so that continuous improvement is an integral part of the business.

Within the Practices, we operate a Quality Management System which sets out procedures for:

  • Induction of new staff to a project.
  • Competency of staff.
  • Training requirements/opportunities.
  • Working Practices – A review of project documents (including benchmarking and learning processes).
  • Feedback and review.

All project documentation is controlled using the ‘Archetype’ document management system. Allied to its ISO9001 procedures, a consistency of management and document control is ensured and project information kept up to date such that key documents are always easily locatable.

Quality Management System: BS EN ISO 14001:2015

As responsible Practices we aim to promote environmental issues as a foundation to its design activities and extends this philosophy to its own day to day business practices. The Practices are BS EN ISO 14001:2015 accredited and our primary aims are to prevent pollution, to comply with relevant environmental legislation and to continually improve our environmental performance.

In our offices we are committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for our employees, visitors and to minimise our impact on the environment.

We are committed to exercising our professional skills to minimise the environmental impact of our projects through all aspects of the design stages.

Sustainability

It is generally accepted that global warming is due to rising atmospheric concentrations of ‘greenhouse’ gases – most importantly carbon dioxide and methane.

Buildings are single handedly responsible for an estimated 40% (according to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development) of the industrialised society’s greenhouses gases, while transport accounts for a further 25%.

It is clear that our profession has a major role to play if we are to make our society more sustainable.

As architects, we are therefore fully committed to designing truly sustainable and socially responsible developments. From the inception of any project, we are fully aware of the environmental impacts our designs have and the responsibility that goes with delivering them.
